Established in the spring of 2024 as Lux. Veritas. Virtus., the Laurel and Scroll 100, honors exceptional graduate and professional students across Northeastern’s global university system. The society is graduate and professional student counterpart to the Huntington 100. Together, the Laurel and Scroll 100 and the Huntington 100 form the Northeastern Societies of Distinction.
Eligibility
The Laurel and Scroll 100 is open only to graduate and professional students in their final academic year at Northeastern. Students may be from any of Northeastern’s global campuses.
Selection Criteria
Students must demonstrate impressive experience that is aligned with the university’s mission, values, and Academic Plan. The selection committee will consider the following:
- Global engagement, in the form of international co-op, study abroad, or other experiential learning beyond their primary campus
- Impact on the campus community
- Record of service, whether within the university or another community
- Demonstrated leadership
- Entrepreneurial or innovative spirit
- Academic record
- Commitment and ability to positively represent the values of Northeastern
Application Process
Students must apply to be considered for the Laurel and Scroll 100. The application must include two letters of recommendation with option to add an additional third letter. Recommendation letters should highlight the selection criteria outlined above. Only one application per student will be accepted.
The annual application period is mid-January through early March with honor announcement in April. The specific dates vary from year to year are announced each spring.
